Specialist Installation Partners

The performance of a protection system depends on the competence of the contractor responsible for its installation.

UKRS works with experienced specialist contractors capable of installing ground gas, waterproofing and geomembrane systems across the United Kingdom.

Connecting Designs with Competent Installers

Where requested, UKRS can provide project teams with details of contractors whose experience may be relevant to the proposed system.

Installation services may include:

  • Ground gas membrane installation.
  • Radon protection systems.
  • VOC- and hydrocarbon-resistant barriers.
  • Passive ventilation systems.
  • Pre-applied waterproofing membranes.
  • Post-applied waterproofing membranes.
  • Liquid-applied waterproofing.
  • Cavity drain systems.
  • Joint waterproofing.
  • Attenuation tank liners.
  • Geomembrane welding.
  • Membrane repairs and remedial works.

Installer Competence

Depending on the proposed system, installers should be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant product and system experience.
  • Manufacturer training or approval where applicable.
  • Competent and appropriately trained operatives.
  • Appropriate health and safety systems.
  • Suitable insurance.
  • Documented quality assurance procedures.
  • Membrane welding and jointing competence.
  • Experience completing complex penetrations and interfaces.
  • Ability to provide installation photographs and records.
  • Willingness to repair and retest identified defects.

The final assessment and appointment of any contractor remains the responsibility of the appointing client or contractor.

Maintaining Verification Independence

Where UKRS has introduced or previously worked with an installation contractor, this does not remove the requirement for impartial verification.

When acting as verifier, UKRS will:

  • Inspect the works objectively.
  • Record defects and non-conforming details.
  • Require appropriate repairs.
  • Retest repaired areas where required.
  • Clearly identify inspection limitations.
  • Report independently to the appointing client.

A contractor’s inclusion within our network does not represent automatic approval of every installation.

How the Introduction Process Works

1. Project Information

The client provides the project location, drawings, system requirements and programme.

2. Suitable Contractors

UKRS identifies contractors whose services and geographical coverage may suit the project.

3. Direct Enquiry

The client or main contractor contacts the installers directly for quotations and programme availability.

4. Independent Appointment

The installer is appointed under a separate agreement with the client or contractor.

5. Design and Verification

UKRS can remain involved as designer, technical consultant or independent verifier under a clearly defined appointment.
